Message from Mayor
Planning City with the Welfare and Culture, where Sports are Very Popular
I was chosen to be in charge of the municipal administration of Toyokawa City in the last mayoral election.
Though I keenly realize the importance and the responsibility of the duty, I will meet the expectations of the citizens regarding the policy planning city with the welfare and culture, where sports are very popular.
I will immediately review the move of the new municipal hospital to Suwa district which I have appealed for. I will start up an examination committee composed of representatives from every level of society and experts.
My aim is to construct a new municipal hospital which is kind to patients and fixes its eyes on the future.

In addition, on January 15, next year, Otowa-cho and Mito-cho will be absorbed by Toyokawa City, and a new Toyokawa City with a population of about 160,000 shall be born.
This area is called Honokuni or Hoinokuni in the old days, the district boasts splendid nature and a natural environment which is rich in crops.
We have shared a sphere of life with each other and intermingled deeply.
We can plan a new city together after the merger.
We will toil together and I want the richness of Toyokawa City to really be felt.
I am going to try my best to make Toyokawa City the most splendid city in Japan and not to leave debts for coming generations.
In particular I strive to have the understanding and cooperation of the citizens.
I thank you all in advance.

Minoru Yamawaki, Mayor
